The HVD is counting on the newly elected leadership of the EKD to take an interest in the needs of non-denominational citizens, who now make up more than a third of the population in Germany and the majority in East Germany, and not just for missionary reasons.<\/p>\n
In his congratulatory letter published alongside this statement, the HVD President addresses issues of plurality in the public culture of remembrance, commemoration and mourning. It also asks the President of the Council to advocate that the “dragnet search for church tax evaders” be discontinued in the church province of Berlin-Brandenburg-Schlesische Oberlausitz.<\/p>\n
