The Humanist Association of Germany – Federal Association is looking for a committed person who would like to volunteer as Federal Commissioner for Women and Diversity.
What are Federal Representatives at the Humanist Association of Germany?
Federal commissioners represent certain socially relevant topics in the Humanist Association of Germany at federal level. They advise the Federal Executive Board, work on an interdisciplinary basis in various specialist committees, pool the commitment of the state associations and thus contribute their expertise to the public positioning of the association. Their role is voluntary and of great importance for the further development of a specialist topic from a humanist perspective.
Job profile
As Federal Commissioner for Women and Diversity, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Monitoring social and political developments in the areas of women and diversity
- Developing humanist positions on equality, diversity and anti-discrimination in cooperation with the Federal Executive Board and, where applicable, our regional associations
- Advising the Federal Executive Board on technical issues and participating in statements or public statements
- Networking with civil society actors and organizations in the aforementioned subject areas
- Stimulating and supporting corresponding activities within the Humanist Association of Germany (e.g. projects, educational work, events)
- Active participation in the Women, Children, Diversity Committee
What you should bring with you
- Professional interest or expertise in the areas of equality, diversity or related topics
- Humanistic attitude and interest in social commitment
- Willingness to volunteer at federal level (monthly digital meetings, annual face-to-face events; costs incurred will be reimbursed)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate and network
- Approx. 10 hours of work per month
