On our own behalf

At the Council of Delegates of the Humanist Association of Germany – Federal Association last Saturday, we bid farewell to our long-standing active Board member Erwin Kress. Two new board members were elected: Katrin Raczynski (Berlin-Brandenburg) as Board Spokesperson and Andrée Gerland (Baden-Württemberg) as a new member of the Federal Board. Other topics included the internal development of the association – from structural work to the launch of the development of a new corporate design.

Together with the Humanistische Gemeinschaft Hessen, the Humanistischer Verband Deutschlands – Bundesverband invites all members of the state associations to a special celebration: On June 24, 2023, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the HVD Federal Association in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt am Main, Hesse.

At the Council of Delegates of the HVD Federal Association last Saturday, a new board member was elected and a new venue for humanist exchange was introduced.

In contrast or in opposition to religiosity, religious activity and religious (pre-)rights, a “secular scene” is increasingly developing, from atheist organizations to “seculars” as groups in political parties. For some time now, there has been a reorganization in this scene. In addition to organizational issues and, above all, political goals, this may also be due to ideological reasons. In order to be able to discuss and evaluate the latter point, the Humanist Association of Germany presents its ideological foundation in a condensed form in the hope of achieving greater clarity and understanding.
