Federal Executive Board

The Federal Board of the Humanist Association of Germany (HVD) consists of five people: a spokesperson and four board members with equal rights. The honorary Federal Executive Board is responsible for the management of the Federal Association. It decides on current business and represents the HVD internally and externally. The Federal Executive Board is bound by the statutes of the Federal Association and the resolutions of the Council of Delegates .

The Federal Executive Board currently consists of the following persons:

Katrin Raczynski (Spokeswoman of the Management Board)

Born. 1970; studied biology, English and theology as well as psychology; systemic organizational consultant and developer; appointed to the Board of Directors for Human Resources and Finance at HVD Berlin-Brandenburg in 2013, Chairwoman of the Board since 2018.

Christiane Herrmann

Born 1963; qualified social education worker; state spokesperson for the Humanist Community of Hesse (HuGH) since 2018. There she is the celebrations spokesperson and responsible for life skills lessons.

Christian Lührs

Born 1958; Dipl.-Ing., member of HVD Hamburg since 2007 and Chairman of the Board since 2021, member of the Federal Board since July 2022.

Thomas Fehse

Born. 1986; studied Childhood Education and Social Management; Head of the Youth Work Department at the Humanist Association Berlin-Brandenburg since 2020, member of the Federal Executive Board since December 2023.

Born 1983; studied German language and literature and history in Tübingen; Managing Director of Humanisten Baden-Württemberg K.d.Ö.R. since 2022; active as a speaker at ceremonies, funeral speaker and lecturer; member of the Federal Executive Board since December 2024.
