In 1993, seven free-thinking and free-religious national organizations from East and West joined forces to found the Humanist Association of Germany (HVD). For 30 years, the HVD has advocated the promotion of humanist values and the rights of non-religious people in Germany and internationally. Together, we are committed to a secular, humanist society based on reason, science and tolerance.
In June, we want to celebrate our anniversary together and take a look at 30 years of eventful history, current challenges and visions for the future. The ceremony will be hosted by the Humanistische Gemeinschaft Hessen (HuGH), one of the youngest regional associations of the HVD. “The HuGH is proud to have been part of the HVD since 2019,” says HuGH President Timo Saueressig. “It is important for us to be well networked. Meetings with other regional associations such as Berlin-Brandenburg or Lower Saxony have already been very fruitful for our humanist work on the ground. We therefore think it is particularly great to be able to host this special event. I am looking forward to good discussions and a wide range of suggestions for the future.”
The ceremony “30 years HVD Bundesverband” will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in the Bürgerhaus Zeppelinheim, Kapitän-Lehmann-Str. 2, 63263 Neu-Isenburg. This will be followed by a cultural evening program. Registration is open to all interested members of our national associations at hvd@humanismus.de Further information can be found in the digital invitation can be found in the digital invitation.
