The Alliance for Sexual Self-Determination (BfsS) is a coalition of over 40 groups, associations, networks, trade unions, political parties and individuals. The common goal is to defend fundamental rights, such as the right to abortion, and to end paternalism and discrimination in love life. The HVD Federal Association is a founding member of the Alliance for Sexual Self-Determination.
It was founded in 2012 following demonstrations by religious fundamentalists in Berlin. Every year since then, the alliance has countered the so-called “March for Life” with a positive idea of self-determination and tolerance. On International Women’s Day and at information events, the Alliance for Sexual Self-Determination also campaigns for the legalization of abortions and the acceptance of alternative lifestyles. Advice is also offered on all aspects of sexual self-determination, reproductive rights and health education. With its commitment, education and publicity, the alliance fights for an open society.
