From October 27 to 31, 2025, European pastoral caregivers will discuss the future of humanistic pastoral care at the international symposium “European perspectives on humanist existential care” in Berlin.

Two Young Humanists, accompanied by Katrin Raczynski, spokesperson for the board of the Humanist Association of Germany – Federal Association, attended the Federal President’s reception for volunteers at Bellevue Palace. At this reception, Frank-Walter Steinmeier paid tribute to the people who volunteer in a wide variety of areas. The aim of the event is to make visible, on behalf of the many millions of committed people in Germany, those who make community possible, promote participation and assume responsibility with their commitment.

At the digital Council of Delegates of the Humanist Association of Germany on May 17, 2025, two new federal commissioners were introduced: for the history of humanism and for humanist hospice work. The European Humanist Services Network (EHSN) – a European network for humanist professionals – was also presented.
The Humanist Association of Germany – Federal Association is a new member of the Climate Alliance Germany. Joining underlines its commitment to socially just climate protection – and brings a humanist perspective to the climate policy debate.

The Humanist Association of Germany – Federal Association is aware of its responsibility towards people and the environment. Climate, environmental and animal issues are playing an increasingly important role in the association. In its greeting for the new year, the Federal Executive Board focuses on climate protection and social justice.

The Humanist Friday Salon on May 3 is dedicated to humanist-philosophical perspectives on animal ethics. The keynote speech will be given by Dorothea Winter, research associate at the Humanistische Hochschule Berlin. The digital event is open to all interested parties after registration.

This year, we are celebrating World Humanist Day on June 21, 2024 with a major future congress in Berlin.
