Bertha von Suttner-Studienwerk: Call for applications for scholarships

The fifth round of applications for the Bertha von Suttner Scholarship Program has now begun. As of now, students and doctoral candidates can once again apply for a Bertha von Suttner scholarship via the scholarship organization’s website. Those who successfully complete the selection process will receive non-material and financial support.

International Women’s Day: Defending the achievements of equal rights

On International Women’s Day, the Humanist Association of Germany reminds us that the progress made towards equality for women cannot be taken for granted. Particularly in times of political and social uncertainty, hard-won rights come under pressure. The association calls for these achievements to be actively defended and for ways to be found to deal with the challenges of the present – without falling back into outdated gender roles.

Freedom of Thought Report 2025: Religion as an instrument of authoritarian politics

The international partner organization of the Humanist Association of Germany, Humanists International, has published the Freedom of Thought Report 2025. The annual report examines how states around the world respect and protect the right to freedom of religion, belief and expression. The 14th edition analyzes in particular the connection between religion and the global rise of authoritarian politics.
